Job Title: Finance Supervisor

Job Description:

Boomplay, a leading music and video streaming service developed by Transsnet Music Limited, is seeking a qualified Finance Supervisor to join our team. As the Finance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring successful audit results, compliance with tax and statutory requirements, and efficient financial operations. 


Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with external stakeholders: You will effectively engage with external stakeholders such as FIRS, LIRS, and auditors to ensure smooth audits and compliance with regulations.


2. Tax and statutory compliance: Stay updated with the latest changes in tax and statutory requirements, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations. File statutory returns accurately and on time, including CIT, WHT, VAT, PAYE, and other government filings.


3. Financial closing and reporting: Manage the monthly financial closing process, reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and taking corrective actions as needed. Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting principles (IFRS).


4. Bank account administration: Oversee bank payments, administer bank accounts, and perform timely account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial transactions.


5. Invoice processing and payment: Process invoices and coordinate with appropriate parties to ensure prompt payment receipt. Verify expense documentation submitted by employees and identify and resolve any financial discrepancies.


6. Regulatory compliance: Uphold strict compliance with federal, state, and local government regulatory agencies, ensuring timely filings, such as TCC filing, LIRS annual filing, annual tax filing, and more.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly IFRS.

- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience.

- At least 1 year of experience in the internet/technology industry and resolving tax issues is preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems.

- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Proactive, detail-oriented, and result-driven.

- Ability to support departments and contribute to achieving optimal results.
